Cleanrooms and controlled environments are where manufacturing processes occur under strict conditions to prevent contamination to the product. These environments are essential for producing sensitive products like microelectronics, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.
Contaminants can include particles (viable & non-viable), fibres, and residues (leftover substances from manufacturing processes). Understanding the behaviour of these contaminants is crucial for effective removal.
Having a contamination control strategy (CCS) can assist in maintaining a clean environment. Part of an effective CCS is to monitor the environment to ensure contamination levels remain below the ISO standard you are working to. It can also assist in enhanced product quality, increased patient and consumer safety, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
